How Do You Know When You Are Feeling Depleted

Exhaustion, drained, fed up, anger, resentment- to feel all these things on a consistent basis is NOT how you’re meant to be feeling. Nor are you designed to be feeling sleepy all the time, flustered, overwhelmed nor disorganized.

I have to say that nowadays it can be pretty easy to feel this way with all that is put upon us, with the rhythm of life, it seems, and what society demands of us. But in the hectic world that we live in, it is even more necessary to be centered, to be healthy, to be in tuned because otherwise, you will go with the flow but not in a good way.

You would go with the flow of what society demands of you which many times means work, work, work with little play and little rest. It means being tired all the time, something that nature just didn’t have in mind for us. You would go with the flow of how other people want you to be and do. This is not what your soul wants.

Because I know that you deep down want total freedom; because I know that you deep down want to feel happiness; because I know that you deep down want more in life, you must know when you are feeling depleted. Why? Because feeling depleted robs your well-being. Feeling depleted keeps you stuck. Feeling depleted can lead to physical illness. Feeling depleted causes emotional, mental and spiritual dis-ease.

So, if you are constantly exhausted…. you are depleted. If you constantly feel overwhelmed…. you are depleted. If you feel fed up….. you are depleted. If you constantly feel drained…. you are depleted. When feeling any of this, it’s important not to ignore these feelings. These are symptoms of something going on in your life that has taken root and needs to be addressed.

If you constantly feel exhausted, you need to ask yourself where does this exhaustion come from. Is it physical exhaustion? Is it mental exhaustion? Is it spiritual exhaustion? Is it emotional exhaustion? There is a difference. If it’s physical exhaustion, then you need to question if you’re doing so much and need to slow down. Are you working a lot? Are you constantly working with little sleep? If it’s mental exhaustion, then you need to question your thoughts. What are you thinking about a lot? Do you have any concerns at the moment? If it’s spiritual exhaustion, then you need to question whether you are living in integrity with who you really are. Are you living your life or are you living someone else’s life? If it’s emotional exhaustion, then you need to consider your emotions and what it is trying to tell you. Are you constantly worried about something? Are you not listening to what your true essence is telling you? Is something not making you feel good?

Feeling depleted is the result of something not working out right in your life. It is the result of you not being in alignment. It is the result of you not living in integrity with who you really are. So feeling depleted can help you change your life for the better, if you allow this change. You allow this change by being aware of when you are depleted and why. After you find out why, you then take steps to correct this.

If you find yourself feeling depleted, I would like to invite you to lean into this feeling. Understand why it is there in the first place. What makes you feel this way? Where is it coming from?
