There will be times where you will make mistakes from time to time. There will be times where you will feel like you can’t seem to get things together. There will be times where you will feel more emotional. There will be times where you will not feel like yourself. When we have times like these, we sometimes tend to be hard on ourselves. I know this very well because I can be the queen of being so hard on myself. For example, when it comes to languages I tend to want to be a perfectionist or when I make a mistake I tend to be so hard on myself and this in itself is a huge mistake. There will be days where you will make a mistake, say the wrong things, do the wrong things, be more emotional, can’t seem to get things together and you will have those days because you are only human. For your overall well-being, it is very important for you to learn to embrace your humanness.
Embrace the fact that you make mistakes. I’m not talking about mistakes that you know ahead of time that they are mistakes and you do them anyway, no. I’m talking about mistakes that you make that you didn’t mean to make. You perhaps didn’t mean to say things the way you said it. You didn’t mean to do what you did. You mispronounced a word or didn’t do something right. Mistakes, I think, are meant to help you grow so allow yourself to grow from the mistakes you make. You will always be a work in progress.
Embrace the fact that there will be times when it will seem like you can’t get things together. Sometimes life does throw things in our way that makes us feel frazzled or that just throws us off. It’s best to have compassion for yourself in this case and to have compassion for those who find themselves in this situation. You just never know what the other person is going through that they are frazzled themselves.
As human beings our life will continuously be full of lessons, we will never stop growing nor should we stop growing since growth is a part of well-being. For as long as we live we will make mistakes from time to time, the important part is to learn from them. Life is never really perfect so there will be times where you will feel off and that’s ok because you’re only human. The way to avoid being so hard on yourself, I think, is by embracing your humanness because even in your humanness you are perfect the way you are.
